Welcome to my website. I’m Nic Blackwell, a qualified and experienced therapist based in Coventry, dedicated to supporting you on your journey towards well-being with an empathetic approach tailored to your unique needs.
With over 25 years of counselling experience and a Master’s from the University of Warwick, I integrate various therapeutic methods to create a supportive environment for growth. I’ve worked in private practice, a residential rehabilitation unit, and managed a telephone counselling service.

Addiction
Addiction can come to dominate your thinking and behaviour. If you’re experiencing issues related to a form of addiction (drugs, alcohol, sex etc.) I can assist you in identifying the place that addiction takes in your life, help you to explore its origins and other options for its management.
Bereavement and loss
Bereavement/loss can have serious impacts on your life. If you have experienced a bereavement or other form of loss (redundancy, relationship ending, home/house) I can help you to understand and manage the feelings of grief that arise.
Workplace issues
Issues arising in your Employment can impact your overall health and welfare. If you're having difficulties with employment aspects of your life I can help you to explore their origins and impact, and to explore what changes you may be able to make.
Anxiety and depression
Anxiety and depression can arise from a wide variety of sources or situations. Counselling can offer a safe space in which to unpack and explore your feelings.
Kink aware
If you identify as being part of the kink or BDSM community I offer kink friendly, empathic, non-judgemental counselling.
Arrange a consultation
I would welcome an initial phone call, which need take only 10 minutes of your time, during which we can introduce ourselves and I can assess whether we would be better served by meeting in person or online.
Supervision
I provide clinical supervision for both established and trainee counsellors.
What to expect
I work from counselling rooms at Park Counselling Centre, 31 Park Road, Coventry CV1 2LE, where I meet clients face to face from central Coventry and the nearby areas such as Rugby, Nuneaton, Bedworth, Hinckley, Kenilworth, Balsall Common and Leamington Spa.
In addition to face-to-face therapy, I offer online sessions via WhatsApp or Zoom, allowing me to support clients from Coventry and beyond. Contact me to learn more about how online counselling works.
Fees and availability
On initial contact I will ask you some general questions to establish that I can, in principle, be of help and we can book an appointment.
At the same time, you can ask questions about what to expect from the counselling process.
Counselling typically consists of weekly sessions, but other appropriate arrangements can be negotiated.
I charge £60/session, which typically lasts 50 minutes.
